species
Hello dear bloggers:
On this beautiful day I will tell you about my favorite
species.
My favorite species is called chequen. It is a species of
the families of mirtaceas whose scientific name is Luma check. This plant
species is endemic to the central Andean forests between Chile and Argentina.
In Chile it is distributed from the IVª to the Xª region, that is to say from
the 30 to the 41º of South Latitude.
It is a branched shrub of medium size, reaches 9 m, with
grayish brown bark. The flowers are white. The whole plant gives off a pleasant
aroma.
It has fruit drupe edible, purple dark, ripe in early
autumn.
This species can be associated with species of the
sclerophyllous forest in the northern regions of its distribution, such as
peumo, quillay, liter, boldo. In the southern portion of its distribution, it
can be associated with coihue, pitra, temu and canelo.
It is also important that you know that this species
requires a lot of water, usually grows in water or is found with its roots
within a permanent watercourse or areas with constant rainfall.
I hope you have used my information and you may know it.
Take care of yourself, see you!
This species that I really like, I remember seeing it for the first time when we went to the La Campana, incredible!
